The Los Angeles Lakers have lost three preseason games in a row now. In their most recent outing, they squandered Dwight Howard’s exceptional performance by losing 114-121 to the Warriors. But more than anything, this loss pinched because the Lakers had LeBron James opening his 19th season with this warmup game.
LeBron complained about a shorter off-season last year and later blamed the league for the onset of injuries. However, this time around, he enjoyed an elongated rest time, thanks to the Lakers’ early postseason exit. But during this time, has King James slimmed down or gained more weight?

LeBron James and the curious case of his bodyweight
Recently, King James shunned his haters by stating how preseason game results matter the least to him. But the fans cared less about his 9-point performance and more about his bodyweight.
Prior to the season, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka had claimed that Bron is slimming down for the 2021-22 season. However, a recent picture of the L-Train shows how the 36-YO has gained some muscles while keeping his 250 lbs intact. Take a look at how the fans reacted to the claims of his lean gain –

It has been a long while since the Akron Hammer posted anything about his workout sessions. On March 12, he had posted a video of training with his family and then on April 2nd, a super muscular picture with the cute Zhuri James.

Back in 2013-14, LeBron James faced criticism for not being at his absolute fittest self. Popular sportswriter Brian Windhorst had blamed it on his wedding celebration that Bron had gained unhealthy weight. Probably, the NBA champion was 260/70 pounds in those days of transition.
So before beginning his second innings with the Cavaliers, he lost enough weight to get back in shape. It was a near-perfect use of off-season that helped him consciously work on his fitness and later touch his peak performance with the Cavs.
