Simone Biles, Who Once Offered to Babysit Stephen Curry?s Kids, Has Rare Commonalities With the Warriors Ace That Will Amaze Fans

Stephen Curry has emerged as perhaps the greatest three-point shooter in NBA history. The baby-faced assassin has evolved as a leader, winning four championships for the Golden State Warriors. Curry is rapidly inching toward the mark of greatness that all athletes dream to attain. Another sports athlete who showed some traits similar to Curry is Simone Biles. The 25-year-old is tied with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast, at seven. However, there are more similarities between Curry and Biles than just the sheer will of winning.

What do Albert Einstein, Stephen Curry, and Simone Biles have in common? Surprisingly, the trio of geniuses in their respective fields all share the same birthday, as they were born on March 14. While Curry is nine years older than Biles, the American gymnast once even offered to babysit the Warriors legend’s kids.

Similarities between Stephen Curry and Simone Biles

Apart from sharing a birthday, Curry and Biles have a lot more in common. Both athletes understand the importance of mental health and have spoken on the issue openly. Biles is the chief impact officer with the mental health app Cerebral.

Stephen Curry also addressed the issue when former tennis singles world number one Naomi Osaka withdrew from the French Open in 2021. Curry acknowledged Osaka’s struggles and reckoned that no athlete should ever have to make a decision like that.

He supported Osaka’s decision and was impressed by the courage she showed by talking about her struggles. Thus, both Curry and Biles are actively promoting mental health issues.

Further, both Stephen Curry and Simone Biles did something that most athletes would arguably not even consider. The duo rejected a brand like Nike and switched to their lesser-known competitors instead. Curry chose Under Armour over Nike and it seems to have turned into one of the best decisions in his life. He denied Nike and signed with UA in 2013.

Now, Curry is set to become a billionaire with his lifetime contract with the sports equipment and apparel brand. Meanwhile, Biles initially signed with Nike in 2015. However, the talented gymnast ended her ties with Nike in 2021 and joined Gap’s Athleta.
