Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson are going to be the top two draft picks of the 2023 class. But, yesterday was a more significant revelation for the 200 scouts who attended the game between G League Ignite and the Metropolitans. Wembanyama’s team lost to Henderson’s Ignite, but both showed why they were a class apart from other draft picks. They exceeded the already hyped expectations fans and other officials had of them yesterday.
The final scoreline(122-115) did not matter as fans saw a battle between two potentially big NBA stars. Wembanyama, who stands at 7’4″ and has an 8-inch wingspan, already had two blocks within a few minutes of the game.
Henderson matched the giant’s energy as he scored a stepback three over him. Then, Henderson attacked the Frenchman again and got the ball over him. Henderson had 18 points and the Frenchman had nine with a few blocks.

The young giant did not rest easy though. He launched his assault during the second half. The giant launched missiles after missiles. He scored seven triples as he brought his performance to the next gear. He ended up scoring 28 in the second and bagged 37 in total.
Wembanyama shot 11 out of 20 from the field and was successful in seven of his 11 three-point attempts. Henderson had nine assists and scored from 11 out of his 21 from the field and made two out of his three-point attempts.

Victor Wembanyama had high praise for Scoot Henderson
Wembanyama had earlier talked highly of Scoot Henderson. He said, “He’s really a great player. If I was never born, I think he would deserve the first spot.” Both have been projected to be placed #1 and #2 in the 2023 NBA draft. It won’t be easy for any NBA team to draft them both.
