While Bryce and Bronny James have been the most prominent names to come out of Sierra Canyon, there is one young athlete who was a five-star recruit in high school before continuing to a successful college career.
Amari Bailey had a solid season for the UCLA Bruins and his athleticism routinely stood above the rest. He is a highly energizing prospect that can go hard in the paint. He got picked at 41 by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2023 NBA draft.
Bailey averaged over 11 points for UCLA in his only year there. His high motor helped him work hard, make terrific back cuts and take the ball up for his classic left-handed jam. He also has a nice shooting stroke that was handy in multiple situations. For the Hornets, he brings more athleticism and energy which could end up nabbing him a role in the main rotation.
In his story, LeBron calls the young buck a “nephew”, showing how close he is to his son’s former teammate while showering the teenager with support.
