High-octane performers are finally getting fat cheques in free agency after curtains fell over the 2022-23 NBA season. One of them is a 6?5 All-Star point guard who has become the cornerstone of the Indiana Pacers franchise.
After bagging a $52 million-a-year contract for five years, the NBA superstar managed to piss off a 28-year-old player over a simple reason.

Tyrese Haliburton is having the time of his life after bagging a huge five-year $260 million contract with the Indiana Pacers. The contract goes to show that the Pacers? franchise will be looking to build the team around him now.

Amid a massive fan reaction, Knicks star Josh Hart retweeted Haliburton?s post saying, ?Shut up and pick up my call.?
It is a safe assumption that Hart must?ve tried to get in touch with Tyrese Haliburton in order to congratulate him on his huge deal. But Haliburton may have decided to duck his calls as a prank to mock him.

Haliburton even went so far as to share this video on his Twitter exactly a minute after his previous tweet.

The Pacers finally got their franchise player
The Indiana Pacers had been looking for a player to build their team around for quite some time. At first, the front office was looking towards the Pacers center Myles Turner. However, Turner?s numbers took a huge drop in the past few seasons leading the team to look elsewhere.

Haliburton on the other hand went on to become an All-Star his first year with the Pacers after being traded from the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 20.7 PPG, 10.4 APG, and 3.7 RPG for the 2022-23 NBA season on a true shooting percentage of 62.4%.
So, it seemed like a no-brainer for the Pacers to pull the trigger and make him the face of the franchise.?
