Chicago Bulls?legend?Michael Jordan?is known to have a dominating personality on and off the court. Fans are well aware of the billionaire Hall of Famer’s ability to intimidate just about everyone when he feels the need to. Interestingly, His Airness had possessed this particular skill since his college years if what a former college mate said is to be believed. Such was his influence that just one warning from Jordan was enough to make a shop owner comply with his wishes.
Michael Jordan attended the University of North Carolina for three years before he left one year early to enter the 1984 NBA Draft. Following his selection into the league, the 1982 NCAA champion returned to college to complete his degree in geography.
Kenny Smith recalls how Michael Jordan threatened a barber.

2x NBA champion Kenny Smith had attended the same college as Michael Jordan, and they used to hang out together. The former NBA superstar recently appeared in?The Draymond Green Show, presented by?The Volume, where he revealed bits of his college days with MJ and Sam Perkins. The former Houston Rockets star recalled one such incident that proved the kind of influence Jordan, him, and Perkins had in the neighborhood. According to Smith, Carolina had some kind of rivalry with Duke, and given that all the good barber shops were situated in North Carolina Central, Duke students had no choice but to go there.
Smith said, “When we came in there Dray, they would shut down the barber shop and no one could come in the shop.”
However, it just so happened that when they were in the barber shop, a Duke student named Johnny Dawkins had tried entering to get a hair cut but a warning from Jordan prevented the owner from opening the doors to his shop.

“Jordan was like, ‘If you open that door, we will never come back to get a haircut and they didn’t let him in. I was like yes! They didn’t let him in cause they used to shut it down for them or for us but we were in there first,'” relayed Smith.
Jordan had rejected Duke to go to UNC
Michael Jordan’s impeccable talents were recognized by many people, which resulted in offers from several prestigious universities. Among them were Duke University and the University of North Carolina. Jordan decided to go to UNC and played for three seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels under head coach Dean Smith.
