The dominance of LeBron James against the Celtics

LeBron James was one of the most hyped-up high school basketball players. The Akron native was dubbed the ‘Chosen One’. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected LeBron James as the #1 overall pick of the 2003 NBA draft. He has never looked ever since and is living up to the title. However, his initial years in the league didn’t bring team success. Individually, he proved to the world what he is capable of. But he struggled to convert it to team success.

At the time, the Boston Celtics team with Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett was one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Furthermore, they were contenders for the NBA title.

In the 2009-10 season, James faced the Celtics for the first time in the playoffs. And the Celtics won the series in 6 games. Then in the 2010-11 season, James and the Miami Heat faced the Celtics in the playoffs. This time, however, James came out winning as the Heat defeated the Celtics 4-1.

However, the 2011-12 playoff series brought out the best of James as the Celtics went toe-to-toe. And 7 games were required to decide the winner. James averaged 33.6 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game to help his team to the win. The Heat also went on to win the NBA title that season.
