An NBA legend once almost called the cops on fellow legend Shaquille O?Neal. The story was revealed on the latest episode of the ‘Big Podcast with Shaq’. And on this episode, the crew of Shaq, Nischelle Turner, and Spice Adams welcomed a special guest Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith. The Rockets legend works with O’Neal for the ‘NBA on TNT’ show. And they have been close friends for many years. However, Smith once wanted to report the Big Diesel to the Police.

During the show, Smith and Shaq revealed some interesting details about their friendship. And at one point, Smith said that they know almost everything about each other. And they have been part of some of the important moments in each other’s life.

Then the Lakers legend reminded Smith about the time Smith almost called the cops on him. He asked the Rockets legend to tell that story. Smith said that at the time he didn’t know O’Neal very well. He said that he had played against him in the NBA. However, they weren’t friends at the time.

Smith continued that at the time Shaq’s daughter Taahirah and his son KJ went to the same kindergarten. He said that when he went to the school to pick up his son, he couldn’t find him. And the school authorities said that his son had left with O’Neal. It was during a time when ‘The Jet’ didn’t even have a cell phone. So he had to call multiple people to get Shaq’s number. And then he finally got him on the line.
Smith said, “I finally get his number. And I’m like ‘Shaq, you got my son?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, he wanted to come with me. I took him to get a haircut.’ He not only takes my son, he gives him a haircut. Like, who does this? He brings my son back. I was like, ‘Should I call the cops?'”

Interestingly, Shaquille O’Neal is a Sheriff’s Deputy. In 2016, he was sworn in as a Clayton County sheriff’s deputy. The towering center is the tallest deputy in the history of the country.
Kenny Smith has won two NBA championships with the Rockets playing alongside legendary center Hakeem Olajuwon. It was back-to-back in the years 1994 and 1995. In 1995, the Rockets faced a young Shaquille O’Neal and the Orlando Magic. However, the Magic were no match for the Rockets. And they comfortably swept the Magic to clinch their second title.
