WNBA star Brittney Griner has been in the news for a very long time and not for good reasons. She was in the spotlight also a few years ago and at that time, it was her marriage to a fellow WNBA star, which ended horribly. In an interview back in 2015, her ex-wife explained how their marriage unraveled after a dream start.

Glory Johnson, the ex-wife of Brittney Griner, was also a WNBA player like Griner. The two connected at a basketball camp in 2013. From there on, they started dating, and after few months they got engaged. But sometime later, the problems started appearing. The couple was also not helped when the two stars ended up going to different countries to play basketball.

Brittney Griner thought it was funny to make fun by being smart

In the interview, Johnson explained when they were at a hotel with her sisters. That was just before when the infamous fight happened. She says, “She’s always a smart-*ss, and she thinks it’s funny. Eventually, her being a smart-*ss causes us to fight, and then it’s not funny anymore.”

And when Johnson questioned it, things turned worse. She added, “She started throwing a fit, huffing, and puffing, Brittney put her whole palm in my face. I knocked her hand out of my face, and I put my hand on her shoulder and moved her to the side.”

“I’ve never been grabbed or thrown like that ever in my entire life, not by anybody. At that point, everything was out there. We were fighting. We were scrapping. Her eyes were dead black. I thought I could talk to her, but she was not there. I’ve got something for you and heading to the bedroom.”

Seeing this, Johnson’s sister got worried and called 911. This led to both their arrests. Johnson later revealed that Griner had an undisclosed gun and her sister was worried and called the cops.

But they resolved it and got married sometime later. However, even that didn’t last long, as they got divorced a month later. And since then, she has been raising their children alone. And she doesn’t have pleasant words about Griner.
