As a four-star senior, Bulls legend Scottie Pippen‘s younger son, Justin, a 6’3 guard has proven to hold discipline in his craft. Having graduated high school now as the No.9 combo guard in the 2025 cycle, the 19-year-old is soon set to embark on a new journey at Michigan State University after canceling out offers from the likes of Stanford, Texas A&M, the University of Florida, and more. While the 6x NBA Champion couldn’t be more happy, a small portion of his heart doesn’t want his son to leave.

However, Scottie himself once said, “It’s definitely tough to get up and walk away from something you have been a part of for so long. But it’s part of life.” Although it might be tough for him as a father, as a player he knows that it’s the best decision for his son.

The Hall Of Famer very recently sat down for an interview with Slam High School. Herein, Scottie Pippen revealed his “high expectations” from Justin. He said, “There’s high expectations for you now so don’t disappoint yourself. Don’t disappoint the people who invested in you. And in saying that, that means work, don’t let nobody outwork you, and continue to believe in yourself.”

Though the Chicago Bulls star remained sturdy in his words of advice, he couldn’t help but let his emotional self take over soon.

As the time for goodbye comes closer, Scottie says, “That’s going to be tough one man. I’ll probably shed some tears. Such a great kid. I just miss having him around it’s going to be different. He’s my workout buddy in the morning so he kind of keeps me going as well. So that always was a great motivation I feel like I was pushing him but he was also pushing me.

The four-star prospect surely has a lot of pressure on him. It however is not only because of his dad but also because of his teammate Bryce James.

Are Justin and Bryce James friends?

LeBron James‘ youngest son, Bryce, played on the same team as Justin. The young talent is assumed to be a natural at his game and is already being called a 4-star recruit in the class of 2025. He and Justin can be called the big two of Sierra Canyons, both of them have shown drastic improvements in their game from the last season. The two are often seen discussing things courtside and in practice. Bryce even took to Instagram to re-post a video edit of their amazing season. The two in the clip could be seen shaking hands and chilling with Justin.

While the pressure during the games could be immense the two star kids are definitely handling it well. Justin enters Michigan with an average of 16.5 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game, ranked as No.62 overall. “Pippen is a naturally talented guard with instincts for the game. He is very comfortable with the ball in his hands to score from all three levels,”  Analyst Travis Branham wrote.
