The world was greeted with devastating news as it learned rapper Takeoff was killed in an act of gun violence. Fans and celebrities mourned the loss of the former member of Migos. NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal who still blames himself for another iconic rapper’s death mourned the loss of “another brother to gun violence.”

A few days ago, shocking news came out of Houston. Takeoff, a former member of the group ‘Migos’, was reportedly shot dead in a club. Reports say the incident happened at a private party at a club. And the cops and paramedics were called around midnight.

The industry mourned the loss of its young talented rapper. Tributes from across the board started flowing from everywhere, and several fans were devastated at the loss of the youngest member of Migos.

Shaquille O’Neal pays tribute to Takeoff’s family

Shaquille O’Neal paid tribute to the loss of another rapper to gun violence. He said, “It’s another sad day for the hip-hop nation. I woke up to the news that Takeoff lost his life last night. So my condolences goes out to his family… I know this hurts a lot of people…  It’s just sad we lost another brother to gun violence.”

This is not the first time Shaq has lost out on a rapper friend. Back in the day, Shaq made his debut as a rapper and he has several albums. And being in Los Angeles, he had connections with some legendary rappers. One of them was iconic rapper Biggie Smalls. But Biggie was sadly shot dead in Los Angeles.

Shaq was with Biggie a few hours before he was shot. He still thinks about the day when the incident happened. Shaq was also supposed to be at the party where Biggie was there. But it didn’t end up happening as Shaq fell asleep. He still wonders if he could have changed fate.

He said, “If a seven-foot-one Shaquille O’Neal was standing by that car, would the guy still have pulled the trigger? Jerome is trained to make sure he protects me and those around me. I just feel if we were there, maybe something different would have happened.”
