Andrew Wiggins has turned out to be a surprise and a half for everyone watching the league. His post-season performances have made pundits rethink their opinions of him. It’s been two years since Golden State was criticized for acquiring the player from Minnesota. Wiggins and the Warriors have proved the doubters wrong this season. Former player Shaquille O’Neal has become a big fan of Wiggins’ post-season performances.
He has repeatedly praised Wiggins and thought he was vital for the team before this game. This wouldn’t have been the case two years back, but he seems to be living up to the potential.

Shaq posted a story on Instagram showing how impressed he was with Wiggins’ performance in Game 5. He had praised the forward on NBA TV. “He is going to be very important,” said Big Diesel. “Andrew Wiggins has been playing fabulous, I’ve never seen him play like this at all. I think this is the best team, best fit for him”. According to Shaq, Wiggins is encouraged to shoot and score by the likes of Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
Andrew Wiggins: This post-season
In game 5, he scored 26-points and had a 13-rebound double-double in a 104–94 win. He missed all of his six three points attempts though, but still ended up with a field goal percentage of 52.2% as she shot terrifically from mid-range.
Last game too, he came up clutch with 17 points with 41.2% shooting. He had a +/- ratio of +20 which highlights the defensive contributions he made last game. In this game, too, he ended up with a good +12.

Wiggins has been vital for the Warriors this entire postseason. His biggest point haul came against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3. He scored 27 points and had +22 in his name to point out his overall contributions.
He has averaged 18.4 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45.8% from the field. His defense has been world-class, and he has been key to putting a damper on Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum in this series.
