Stephen Curry has been a huge part of the Golden State Warriors’ success. After 2 seasons of not reaching the playoffs, Curry’s Warriors are now 3rd in the Western Conference. Moreover, he too has had a solid season while also shattering some records along the way.

However, in a recent game against the Boston Celtics, Curry suffered from an injury. He left the match and did not return. Since then, the Warriors have not really found their rhythm. Including the game against the Celtics, the Warriors have been on a 3 game losing streak.

Moreover, their 3rd loss in the streak came in a surprising fashion against the Orlando Magic. In light of this, Shaquille O’Neal, who predicted a Warriors’ title win, now made another bold claim regarding Curry and the franchise.

Shaquille O’Neal on Stephen Curry and the Warriors

Following the loss against the Magic, Shaq stated his opinion about the Warriors in the discussion with Dwyane Wade, Candace Parker, and Adam Lefkoe.

“It’s hard to really judge this team when they’re not at full strength. When they become full strength, I’m not really worried about them because their 3 main core guys have done it. They’ve been there before,” said Shaq.

“If you get 2-3 guys, you only need the rest of the guys to be followers, and to be role players, and to be proficient role players,” he explained.

Thereafter, Shaq added that when the team resumes at full strength in the playoffs, the rest of the squad will follow the leadership of Curry, Klay, and Green, knowing that a championship is at stake. Clearly, he believes that Curry and the Warriors still have a chance at winning the title despite the loss to the Magic.

In Conclusion

Following the loss to the Magic, the Warriors now have a 47-25 record and are 3rd in the Western Conference. With 11 games left in the regular season, they will aim to win as many as they can. However, it’s not an easy set of games for the franchise.

They will face the Eastern Conference leaders, Miami Heat, along with some of the West’s powerhouses such as the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Memphis Grizzlies. Moreover, with Curry out, it’s going to be difficult to win. However, the franchise must put its trust in Steve Kerr, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. After all, these guys have proven time and again that they can win in the NBA.
