One of the best matchups in the NBA is the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Los Angeles Clippers. Whenever the two city rivals go up against each other, it is bound to be an exciting affair. Historically, The Lakers hold the upper hand over the Clippers. The fanbase has had players like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and LeBron James play for the franchise.

When Shaq played for the Lakers, the team was unbeatable. He partnered with Kobe to form a lethal duo that won 3 titles. Although the Lakers might have won more titles than the Clippers, their record against them in the last 10 years has been awful.

Safe to say Shaq enjoys a match against the Clippers. He once dropped an amazing 61 points against the Clippers on his 28th birthday.

After the recent shocking result against the Clippers, Shaquille O’Neal had a message for the Lakers team. The 4 time NBA champion said, “My record was 23-2 against the Clippers. I know this is called the play-in game, but when I was a Laker we never even gave them consideration about them saying ‘it’s my town.’ Now they got a couple of superstars that say whose town is this. There should be a little more force.”

Shaq obliterates the Clippers

When Shaq talks about dominating the Clippers, he means it. He averages an incredible 26.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists playing against the Clippers.

He also had his best night in terms of scoring against the Clippers. When the LA Lakers took on the LA Clippers on 6th March 2000, O’Neal took matters into his own hand.
