In a recent episode of ‘The Big Podcast’, Shaquille O’Neal channeled his inner child while talking about his mother Lucille O’Neal. Shaq admitted that he still wants his mother to say, “I love you and I am proud of you,” as he remembered troubling her a lot in his childhood. He said, “Y’all don’t know this, but from 2 to 18 I put that woman through hell..I was bad.”
He further went on to talk about one of his actions that put a smile on his mother’s face. Shaq continued, “I can remember when I had my first little article and the smile on her face, I’m like man, she loves me.” Nischelle Turner, touched by Shaq’s words said, “You feel some kind of way.” Responding to Turner, Shaq further admitted that he still feels like a baby around his mother, even though he’s 50-years-old. Therefore, the Lakers legend still tries to do good things to make her proud to compensate for his past behavior.

Shaq once lost millions because of his mother
After completing a dream run in his Sophomore year on the LSU basketball team, Shaq decided to break into the NBA draft. But his mother had other ideas as she asked her son to balance a checkbook to get his wish fulfilled. However, the 7’1 giant failed at the task, and his mother said, “you’re not ready, baby. This conversation is over.” Notably, The Big diesel could have made millions through his rookie contract, but his parents felt the need for education more important than the dollars.
