NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is known for his dominance on the court and his caring nature off the court. Fans are very well-aware of all the philanthropic work that Shaq does. As much as he likes to spend his hard-earned money on himself and his family, Shaq also likes to help out strangers during their times of need. Be it paying for a couple’s engagement ring or buying a laptop for a fan, the Big Aristotle is always there when needed and he has proved it yet again.

A clip showing yet another noble deed by Shaquille O’Neal is making rounds on the Internet currently. It was originally from an episode of Shaq Life on TNT. As it turns out, the 7’1″ giant paid for the complete renovation of a shelter in his neighborhood. The group home called Friend’s House is home to underprivileged kids and at-risk youth. The clip also showed the before and after videos of the house that revealed significantly improved designs.

“They don’t have anything. They’ve never had anybody to come help them up. It’s the right thing to do. When you don’t have a home and you’ve come to some place that’s supposedly a home, I want to make it look like a home,” said Shaq.

Furthermore, Shaq said that the newly renovated house would give the kids happiness and a sense of purpose. Those were the factors that mattered to the $400 million worth NBA legend. The former Los Angeles Lakers superstar wanted to give the kids the best of everything. Evidently, his wishes came true as the shelter was furnished with new furniture including several beds, sofas, and a table. Additionally, even the old tv was replaced with a new 75-inch tv.
Shaquille O’Neal is devoted to charity work
Apart from helping out the shelter home, Shaquille O’Neal has previously helped several charitable organizations. A few of them are Be The Match, Free The Children, Kids Wish Network, Boy & Girls Clubs of America, etc. Additionally, the Hall of Famer also runs The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps out underserved youth. The organization paves the way for kids to a brighter future and help them reach their best version. In an interview with PEOPLE, Shaq said that he loves making people’s day better.

O’Neal said, “I had a meeting with my mother, Dr. Lucille O’Neal, and she was like, ‘Baby, you’ve done everything I’ve asked you to do. I think you should go about every day just making somebody smile and making somebody happy.”

Shaq takes pride in making even just one person happy. He liked hanging out at places like furniture stores and helping out anybody in need. While Shaq mostly does this to make his mother proud, it does not change the fact that Diesel has a generous heart.
