NBA legend Michael Jordan demolishing his opponents is not something new. That too in a one-on-one, there is no doubt about it. However, a one-on-one story between the Chicago Bulls legend and a former NBA star in 1991 has come out to be iconic. The story continues to resurface after former NBA superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers, Shaquille O’Neal shared a video of the same on his social media.?

Even before getting drafted into the NBA, the Spurs legend got a chance to play with Michael Jordan in 1991. Surprisingly, even MJ knew he would make it to the league in a short span considering his cameo performance against the Bulls star.?

After winning the Illinois High School State Championship in 1991, NBA legend of the San Antonio Spurs, Michael Finley got a chance to play with the 90s superstar Jordan. Bringing back fame to the Wisconsin men’s basketball team by leading them to an NCAA tournament, Finley was considered one of a kind even before he entered the league.

Eventually drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1995 draft, Finley went on to have a legendary career with the San Antonio Spurs. After his tenure with the Suns and Dallas Mavericks for 10 years, Finley joined the Spurs in 2005. Later in 2007, Finley won his first NBA championship with the Spurs, averaging a crucial 11.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in the playoffs.?

In his fun battle with MJ, the Bulls legend torched Finley in a game to three. Though the former Spurs guard got the first bucket, MJ made sure he did not give him another chance. However, Jordan knew Finley had the talent to get into the NBA. In the video shared by Shaquille O’Neal, MJ mentioned, “I’ll see you in about five years in the league”, after defeating Finley in a one-on-one.

Moreover, during his time with the Dallas Mavericks in 1997, Finley signed with the Jordan brand after fans loved watching his smooth game. Post his retirement in 2010, Finley joined the Dallas Mavericks as the Vice President of basketball operations.?
