Shaq pulled off a Floyd Mayweather bet on his co-host Charles Barkley. In 2014, Mayweather was challenged to successfully read a full page from a Harry Potter book by 50cent. The bet was for $750 grand. 50cent took to Instagram and said that if Floyd Mayweather can read the page, he would donate the money to a charity of Mayweather’s choice.
Mayweather and 50cent had their own extended beef long after. But this challenge stood the test of time.
During a recent half-time report on TNT, Charles Barkley, or Chuck as he is otherwise known, was asked what he felt about the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns. He said that it was spectacular. Shaquille O’Neal pounced and dared him to spell the word.

Other hosts came to Barkley’s rescue and said he could spell it. Shaq insisted that Barkley would not be able to spell it. Barkley laughed and closed his eyes to spell the word. The Big Aristotle then took the dare further and said he would place $10,000 dollars if Chuck could spell the word.
ERNIE: “Welcome to the halftime report on TNT! What a first half in Phoenix.”
SHAQ: “$10,000 if you can spell ‘spectacular’, Chuck.”
CHARLES: “S! P…..E?”
ERNIE: “What did you see that first half, Kenny?”

Barkley had to write it down to get it right. As he spelled the word, everyone started laughing at his attempt. He eventually managed to get it right. He faced the camera and chuckled at how his “Auburn education” came through in times of need. No one could stop laughing.
For Shaquille O’Neal, $10,000 is possibly mere pocket change. This is not the first time the Los Angeles Lakers legend has given away large chunks of cash. He himself declared to Jimmy Kimmel that he remains a big tipper. He said he had once given $4000 dollars to a waiter once and had absolutely no qualms about it.
