There are arguably no NBA players who are as diverse in their accomplishments as Shaquille O’Neal. The Big Aristotle is not just an NBA legend but also an accomplished and tested actor, wrestler, and rapper. People who are familiar with his music also know him as The Diesel or DJ Diesel. The four-time NBA champion had previously worked alongside several big names in the music industry including Michael Jackson. However, there is one particular track by Shaq Diesel with one of the most iconic rapper of all time that is etched in his fans’ minds to date.

Shaquille O’Neal has probably accomplished just about everything he ever wanted. The millionaire giant now takes part in various charities and runs a non-profit foundation of his own. While his other interests might have taken a backseat due to work commitments, O’Neal still performs as a DJ whenever possible.

Back in the 90s, O’Neal released several rap albums. One of the most memorable ones being Michael Jackson’s ‘2 Bad’ song, where Shaq was a guest rapper. However, fans were more impressed by O’Neal’s song ‘You Can’t Stop the Reign’ from the album of the same name, where he ‘outshined’ none other than the Notorious B.I.G or Biggie Smalls. At least, fans on the Internet seemed to think so on this resurfaced social media clip.

The album was released in 1996 and featured two singles – ‘You Can’t Stop the Reign’ and ‘Strait Playin”. The first song also featured rapper The Notorious B.I.G. The album was considered to be moderately successful at the time of the release. It has been over two decades since the song was released but it still remains a fan favorite. According to the Twitterati, the Los Angeles Lakers legend outshined Biggie in the track.

Many called the track underrated as the song did not gain the amount of recognition it deserved. A fan even stated that the song was the highlight of O’Neal’s work. Here are some of the tweets.

Shaq collaborated with the King of Pop

Who wouldn’t want to work with the legendary Michael Jackson?? While Shaquille O’Neal’s is a former NBA superstar himself, even he wouldn’t want to pass up such opportunity. Ever since Shaq released his first-ever album in 1993, he has collaborated with artists such as Jay-Z, Method Man, and RZA. However, it is probably safe to state that his collaboration with MJ was the most significant one.

In 1995, MJ invited Diesel to feature in his upcoming album HIStory. Shaq lend his rap skills for a verse in the song ‘2 Bad’. While the verse was only six lines, it still counted as a major achievement in Shaq’s career as a rapper.
