Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most dominant forces in the league. Playing for several teams, the big man was a threat to any opposition. It was really a nightmare for opposing teams, but for those teams that Shaq played for, it was a real investment. This is especially true for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat as they invested in him to win the ultimate prize of an NBA championship.

This strategy of investing is not just true with teams investing in players, but also with players investing in businesses in order to have additional income sources. This is true in the case of Shaq as well. In a recent interview with Ellen, Shaq described an unusual experience that led him to earn big by investing in Google.

Shaq’s investment in Google

Back in June of 2018, Shaq made an appearance on the Ellen show as one of her guests. The duo discussed several topics, one of which was Shaq’s investment in Google.

During his stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in LA during the early ’90s, Shaq once played with someone’s children while their parent was in a meeting. As it turns out, the parent in question worked for Google.

“After the meeting, he says ‘You know what? You’re good with kids. I like you, I’mma bring you in on this investment,’ and it was called Google. And he said in the future, ‘You’re gonna be able to type on your phone, search engine this, do this, boom, boom, boom, you should invest,'” explained Shaq on his conversation with the parent of the kids whom he baby-sat.

“I invested, and then a couple of years later, I got a really big return,” he added.

Thereafter, Shaq mentioned he was still in on his Google investment, to which Ellen jokingly replied saying that playing with a parent’s child can sometimes turn out to be a success, like in the case of Shaq.

Shaq in the NBA

While Shaq may have benefitted from his Google investment, the NBA and fans all over the world benefitted from Shaq in terms of the several massive moments that the star produced.
