The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the four teams who kickstarted the NBA season 2022-23. The Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on October 18, 2022. Evidently, the reigning champions defeated the Lakers by a significant difference of 123-109. However, fans might not have seen the Lakers’ second consecutive loss coming. Meanwhile, Shaquille O’Neal chimed in with his thoughts on the Lakers’ recent woes at the very beginning of the season.

After facing defeat on the opening night, the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Los Angeles Clippers on October 21 at Crypto.com Arena. It sure did disappoint the Lakers fans when the team lost their second game by 97-103.

The Lakers were led by the team forward Lonnie Walker who had the highest score in the game. Walker averaged 26 points, three assists, and three rebounds. Behind him was Anthony Davis who scored 25 points and eight rebounds. LeBron James scored 20 points, with 10 rebounds and six assists. On the other hand, the LA Clippers players Paul George and John Wall were the team’s highest scorers who shot 15 points each. Additionally, Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Morris, and Ivica Zubac each scored 14 points.

Evidently, before the Lakers vs Clipper game took place, Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal talked about the game on his podcast. In addition, he gave his thoughts on Leonard’s recent comments on the Lakers vs Warriors game. The latest episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq was released on October 22, 2022.

Shaquille O’Neal shatters LA Clipper’s hopes of overpowering the Lakers

In The Big Cashmere Coat episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, Shaq and his co-hosts, Nischelle Turner and Anthony Adams speculated about the Lakers’ game against the Clippers. While Nischelle said that she was excited to watch the game, Shaq had a whole other thought about it.

Shaq said, “The Clippers have always wanted the year where they could overtake the Lakers. That’ll never happen, okay. I don’t care, you can win four championships in a row, it’s still going to be a Laker town.”

Surprisingly, Shaq did correctly predict that the Clippers would beat the Lakers as the former had better roster.

However, recalling Kawhi Leonard’s comments, O’Neal said, “You heard the guy Kawhi saying he didn’t watch him. So, if I’m LeBron and I hear somebody say they ain’t watch me, like, I’m coming at your rack when I play.”

A reporter had asked Leonard if he watched the Warriors vs Lakers game. The Clipper star had admitted that he didn’t watch the game. In fact, he said that he didn’t watch any basketball games. He revealed that he only watches the clips of the teams they are supposed to face but that was all.
