However, what really helped him become a business mogul was the charitable work and smart investments he made. Shaq does business for the cause, not for the amount of money he is going to earn.

Shaquille O’Neal resonates with Bob Marley

Shaquille O’Neal shared a story on his Instagram account earlier today. It was a post about the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bob Marley. In the post, Marley is heard talking about the concept of being rich. He’s asked, “Are you a rich man?” Confused by this question, Marley asks the individual to elaborate.

The individual reframes his statement and questions if Marley has a lot of possessions. Following this Marley said, “I don’t have that type of richness, my richness is life forever.” 

The Big Aristotle has an extremely healthy bank account. However, he doesn’t want his money or basketball to define his legacy. The four-time NBA Champion wants people to remember him as “Shaq was a nice guy.” He knows that he has the power to make people happy and bring a smile to their faces.

So he takes pride, in helping people and making their lives better. He said, “I take pride in each and every day by just making one person smile, whether it’s one person or whether it’s a hundred people or whether it’s a thousand people.”
