Giannis Antetokounmpo has really raised the level this season. The two-time MVP has been dominating over the past few seasons. With Giannis looking to defend his championship status, he has come up huge for the Buck. Currently, he is a leading player for both MVP and DPOY once again. In addition, his recent dominant performances got Shaquille O’Neal to admit how in a few years there will be no competition for Giannis as the best player in the NBA.

Much like Antetokounmpo, Shaq made dominance an attribute associated with him. He was the first big man to truly play bully ball with his 7-foot frame and unreal athleticism. However, after watching the work ethic of Antetokounmpo over the years and seeing the resemblance, Shaq has grown into a fan. Notably, he even said the Greek Freak is a better player than him and relinquished his superman title as well.

Shaquille O’Neal says Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the best player in a few years

In his recent games, Antetokounmpo has really showcased his true form. Coming up big against some of the best teams in the NBA, O’Neal was left stunned. He spoke about how he loves the way Giannis competes. In addition, Shaq said that while there are few players above him right now, Antetokounmpo will soon be the best player in the league.

The Big Diesel said: “It takes a certain animal, a D-Wade, Kobe or LeBron to say, ‘Hey I know you’re the best but I’m coming.’ One day you’re going to say this league belongs to me. That’s who he is now. I know there are a couple of names above him. But one day we will say Giannis is the best player in the league. Period.”
