Shaquille O’Neal and JaVale McGee have had a lot of bad blood over the years. The two players used to have a full-on beef going on earlier. Shaquille O’Neal used to feature JaVale McGee and his mistakes on his blooper reel channel ‘Shaqtin’ a Fool’.

The segment generally included videos of players committing turnovers or silly mistakes. Whether it be an outside, or an air ball, Shaqtin a Fool used to release it with funny edits and captions for entertainment purposes. However, there was a point when JaVale McGee had the most appearances on Shaqtin a Fool.

This caused a rift between Shaq and JaVale as it became clear that Shaq had something personal against the player. However, this beef has lied dormant and nothing has happened in quite a long while.

Shaquille O’Neal recently spoke about JaVale McGee on NBA on TNT. He shows his appreciation for the player. He acknowledged that JaVale McGee reinvented his game when he went to the Golden State Warriors. With this, Shaq also expressed how JaVale learned the game properly under an amazing coaching staff and flourished with players like Stephen Curry.

Shaquille O’Neal added, “I’m happy for him, I’m proud of him.” This clearly shows that whatever beef existed between the two is done for. Shaq now has a healthy respect for JaVale as a player.

JaVale McGee’s current season

JaVale McGee is a good asset to have on one’s team. He is currently playing for the Phoenix Suns. McGee has experience of 13 years in the league. Therefore, it is safe to say that he has a good basketball IQ.

JaVale also has three championships to his name. He won consecutively with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. He then took his talents to the Lakers and won another championship with King James in 2020.

JaVale McGee is currently playing an important role in the Phoenix Suns, helping in any way he can. He is averaging 10.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. This shows he makes an impact whenever he is on the court. McGee has a 40% 3 point shooting percentage this season, which is quite good for a 7-foot player.

Furthermore, he has a 65.8% field goal percentage, which makes him an efficient scorer. The Phoenix Suns are currently leading the entire NBA in terms of wins and are looking at another potential playoff run. Meaning that McGee has the chance to add another championship to his name.
