Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest players to ever play in the game. He is also one of the biggest to play in the league. His massive height and size made him the most dominant force in the NBA. But while growing up, this massive size caused several problems for Shaq and led to him dressing up as a woman.

Shaq may have been a beast in the NBA, but while growing up, he faced a lot of problems. He has a massive size, and he used to be made fun of because of that. Many people couldn’t believe his proper age because of his height and size. Shaq opens up on his struggles growing up in his book ‘Shaq Talks Back’.

Shaquille O’Neal says he used to dress up as a woman

Shaq addresses his issues in his new book. He quotes, “You too big to be trick-or-treating, ain’t you?” they would say. By then, I had gotten used to people either making fun of my height or not believing me when I told them my age.

Shaq says when he was 10 he would dominate in youth league games. He would score 40 and 50 points and they wouldn’t believe that he was 10 years old. Many asked for his birth certificate to confirm his age. And this made Shaq feel terrible.

He recalls one story where he was hurt the most. Shaq said it was a Halloween story where he used to dress up as Shaquanda, where he would dress up as a girl or grandma, depending on his mood. He was doing this because he felt it was a good way for him to hide his insecurities He says,” Most times it was a grandma, but for a few years, I would put on a wig and ugly lipstick, pretend I had these gigantic breasts. I already had this big ole ghetto b**ty. Even as a kid, I was a comedian.

Shaq went through a lot when he was a kid because of his size. But in the NBA, he was a monster. He used his size and athleticism to devastating effect. That is one of the reasons he is the most dominant force ever seen in the NBA. Shaq may have been bullied as a kid, but he used to bully defenders in the NBA with his play. The size that caused so many problems ended up being a boon as a player.
