On one hand, the reality is that before Kyrie also became a victim of the outbreak, the Nets were planning to bring him back. On the other hand, some believe that enough is enough and the superstar should be traded for being selfish. And if there is anyone who agrees with the majority this time, it’s Shaquille O’Neal.
The Brooklyn Nets have been hit, and even bigger this time. Their first blow was at the beginning of the 2021 NBA season when Kyrie Irving refused to get himself vaccinated and had to sit out of games all this while. Then Kevin Durant got injured in the midst of an outbreak that has left eleven of their players in the league’s health and safety protocols. So, is it wiser to keep Kyrie or get Nets should rid of him?

Right now, Kyrie Irving is one of the most controversial players in the NBA. He is known for his debatable statements and wild behaviors. And not adhering to the rules of New York’s arena in the midst of the pandemic had its consequences. Not only did he get bashed for it, but it was Kevin Durant and the Nets who had to suffer.
KD has been carrying the team throughout the season and has done a brilliant job with it. His monstrous performances have landed them at the top of the table in the East. But with the recent upsetting situation with the league instilling player replacements from next month because of players entering health and safety protocols, the Nets decided to bring Irving back part-time. He would only be available only for the road games.
However, Shaquille O’Neal thinks that it’s time the Nets say goodbye to him. In his recent podcast, the discussion about whether he should be traded or not came up, to which Shaq agreed with. Then he stated, “It’s all about sacrifice. How can you have a championship team when one of your main guys don’t want to sacrifice?”

The Brooklyn Nets could have another plan in mind

A trade about Irving is just conjecture, as well as the theory that is making rounds. What made the Brooklyn Nets suddenly change their minds about bringing Kyrie Irving back? Is a depleted roster the reason? Ensuring they have the best chance at a title? Or is there something deeper at play here?
Well, some people also believe that the Nets are only bringing him back to eventually put him back on the market. They want other teams to believe that Irving is in the best of health, despite missing half of the season. And once they get the best deal possible, it will be bye-bye Kyrie.

Of course, this could be a little over the top. But anything can happen in the NBA and ruling this out completely would be foolish. If the team is planning something like this, it’s either absolutely genius. Or it will jeopardize all that they have worked for so far.
