Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal recently reacted to Irving’s actions on TNT’s Inside the NBA. Earlier, NBA analyst Charles Barkley had condemned Irving’s actions on the show. Barkley said that he hoped the Brooklyn Nets star face suspension for posting reportedly antisemitic material on social media. After the Nets’ game against the Chicago Bulls, Shaq followed suit and went as far as to calling Irving an ‘idiot.’

“The game we used to love, and we promote it brings people together. And it hurts me sometimes when we have to sit up here to talk about stuff that divides the game. Now we got to answer for what this idiot has done,” said O’Neal.

Furthermore, he said that he has always stood for equality and didn’t want to answer for someone else’s actions. The four-time NBA champion stated that Irving’s answers during the media interviews clearly indicated that he didn’t really care about anything. However, Shaq’s reply has ticked off YouTuber Spoken Reasons, who apparently decided to remind the Diesel of his previous beef with former NBA superstar David Robinson.

Youtuber calls out Shaquille O’Neal for past actions

Spoken Reasons is a 33-year-old Youtuber/actor with almost two million subscribers. Following Shaquille O’Neal’s comments on Kyrie Irving, Spoken Reasons slammed the Los Angeles Lakers legend on Twitter. On Nov 3, Reasons recalled the time Shaq accused San Antonio Spurs legend David Robinson of refusing to give him his autograph. For several years, O’Neal maintained that Robinson denied him an autograph when he was a kid. Due to that, the games between Shaq and Robinson always made headlines because of the way they played.

“Shaq Is a Man That Literally Lied on David Robison for years,” wrote Spoken Reasons on his tweet. “Then later on came out and said he was cappin for clout. Many believed him and the narrative. Now imagine what David was dealing with during that time of confusion.. Not cool,” he added.

However, years after both players retired, the Los Angeles Lakers legend came clean and confessed that it was all a made-up story. In 2020, O’Neal apologized to Robinson and stated that he made up the rumor because he needed a reason to get mad at the Spurs legend.

Spoken Reasons’ comments are especially pointed at Shaq’s remarks on the Kyrie Irving controversy. Shaq has attracted flak from a section of fans for his criticism of Kyrie Irving recently. On the other hand, the Big Aristotle and Charles Barkley’s bold stance has prompted praise and appreciation from many, including NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
