The Los Angeles Lakers were part of a three-team deal involving the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The deal revolved around the Jazz acquiring Russell Westbrook. On the other hand, the Lakers got D’Angelo Russell from the Timberwolves. Furthermore, the Lakers obtained Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt from the Timberwolves. With that said, Beasley’s inclusion in the Lakers roster raised eyebrows across the NBA community. As fans discussed this trade, Larsa Pippen found her way into the narrative.

Malik Beasley and Larsa Pippen reportedly dated for a few months. Their time together was nothing short of tumultuous and fans recalled this. They pointed out that Beasley would now join Pippen’s son, Scotty Pippen Jr. at the Lakers. While referring to the drama between the ex-couple, fans believed there would be awkwardness and tension in the locker room. Amid these discussions, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe weighed in on the situation.

Shannon Sharpe on what Scotty Pippen Jr. should do

On his show ‘Undisputed’ with Skip Bayless, Sharpe commented about what he’d do if he was Scotty Pippen Jr. He said, “If I’m Scotty Pippen Jr., I want a trade.” He explicitly mentioned Beasley’s name and stated that he would have to leave if he was going to be a part of the Lakers’ roster.

Bayless chimed in and asked him to explain. The NFL legend yelled, “you know why”, hinting at the previous relationship. Bayless immediately recounted that Shannon was going “off the court” instead of thinking about a spot on the playing lineup.

Sharpe animatedly replied, “Off the court, on the court, whatever the court. I got to go, I want a divorce.” He kept talking about the situation as if he were Pippen Jr. Following this, Skip mentioned that Scotty has the talent and zeal to play for the Lakers. However, the issue is that the team perhaps has too many players like him already on the roster.

While Sharpe agreed, he continued to harp on Pippen Jr. wanting a divorce from the Lakers because of his mother’s controversial history with Beasley.

Larsa Pippen and Malik Beasley’s past

Larsa Pippen and Malik Beasley were spotted together in November 2020. While they were together for just a few months, much drama spewed afterward as Beasley’s wife posted an Instagram story, claiming to be caught off guard by the pictures of Malik and Larsa together.

She added that she was as surprised as the fans. While the buzz around this continued, Beasley later apologized to his wife online and his wife responded by stating that she accepted the apology and the couple would work towards fixing their relationship.

However, while doing so, she took a dig at Pippen. According to the Daily Mail, Larsa Pippen immediately responded and attacked the Beasleys. She reportedly called Beasley “cheap” and a “clout chaser”.
