Brooklyn Nets guard Seth Curry has been in his elder brother’s shadow for quite some time. Unlike Stephen Curry, Seth faced many hardships both before and after making it into the NBA.

He spent numerous seasons in the D-League and his performances were noticed by NBA scouts. Interestingly enough, the Golden State Warriors had the chance to have the two Curry siblings on the same team. However, Seth outrightly rejected the Warriors’ offer and joined another NBA team.

Seth Curry once refused to play with his elder brother 

Dell Curry and Sonya Curry are proud parents of two NBA players. While Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors has had one of the best NBA careers ever, his younger brother has had to endure a lot of hardships.

Injuries and bad luck proved to be costly as he lost out on scholarship opportunities. Moreover, Seth Curry has had to grind and showcase his talents in the D-League as well.

Back in 2014, he was given an opportunity by his D-League coach. The coach played him for more than 30 minutes every game and he averaged 24.3 points.

This attracted interest from the NBA with the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and also the Golden State Warriors offering him a contract in 2015. However, he joined the Kings and not the Warriors as many would’ve thought.

He said, “I didn’t want to go to Golden State. I didn’t want to go back in Steph’s shadow.“Interestingly, he also denied joining Davidson College for the same reason. Instead, he went to Liberty University and played college-level basketball there.

Has Stephen Curry faced off against his younger brother?

Seth and Stephen Curry are undoubtedly the most famous siblings in the NBA currently. They have faced off against each other on 16 occasions with 4 of them coming in the playoffs.

Unsurprisingly, Steph has the edge over Seth. He has won 13 of the 16 games and he averages 28.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. On the other hand, Seth Curry averages 9.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. (Source: landofbasketball.com)
