Vanessa Bryant and her family have been very kind to the supporters of the late Kobe Bryant. Ever since his passing, the Bryant family has continued to give back to the community through the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. The loss has been difficult to recover from, but over time, things have improved. However, the recent news has saddened Kobe’s fans. As great as Kobe was, basketball ran in his blood due to his NBA heritage.
Kobe’s father, Joe Bryant, played in the NBA for eight seasons. Unfortunately, Joe Bryant recently passed away, and Vanessa sent her condolences via Instagram. “Sending our condolences upon hearing the news of my father in law’s passing. We hoped things would’ve been different. Although the times we spent together were few, he was always sweet and nice to be around. Kobe loved him very much. Our prayers go out to family.”, wrote Vanessa on her Instagram story.

It is a terrible loss for the Bryant family and the legend’s supporters. Vanessa kept aside the family differences that have been known to the best of Kobe’s fans for a long time. Not too long ago Kobe’s parents received backlash for putting up his championship rings on the roster. However, Vanessa was held accountable for the same. This controversy caught quite a grip, however, Vanessa held the former dispute back, sending her condolences to the family.

Joe Bryant was also a WNBA head coach for four seasons following his playing career. He supported his son’s career, but when it came to Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, the parents were not as happy with the decision. The picture of Brant sitting sadly with the Larry O’Brien trophy explains just that. Kobe’s parents did not approve of his marriage as the Mamba was quite young and did not marry an African American. In light of this, they did not attend his Finals game. However, things between Vanessa and her in-laws took another hit back in March.
What was the family dispute between Vanessa Bryant and her in-laws?
Well, Joe and Pam Bryant decided to sell Kobe’s championship ring that he won in 2000. Fans did not let this slide and took matters into their own hands. They took to social media criticizing the family to have put up the ring for auction. Now where does Vanessa come into this? Former NBA player, Gilbert Arenas, pointed out that the family was just trying to make ends meet and Vanessa should have helped the family financially.
Now, it has only been four months since this dispute, and sadly, Joe passed away. Vanessa has given back to the community on behalf of the Sports Foundation. Not only that but she has been active on social media, promoting Kobes, and other charities that the Foundation has been supporting. Fans and supporters could only wish for the better for Kobe’s mother amid the devastating loss.
