Stephen Curry has once again done it. In Game 7 of the first-round series against the Sacramento Kings, the Warriors’ talisman dominated, scoring a postseason career-high 50 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 120-100 triumph. The victory eclipsed Kevin Durant’s previous mark of 48 points in a Game 7 and secured the Dubs’ spot in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. After impressing with a marvelous performance, Curry also addressed a comment made by the Kings star, Malik Monk, after Game 6.

Steph was in the zone the entire night, taking shots from sharp angles. The baby-faced assassin shot a perfect 17-of-17 from the free-throw line and finished the game with a final field goal percentage of 14 of 21, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. His performance was nothing short of outstanding, and it served as a reminder of why the 35-year-old is regarded as one of the all-time great shooters. Along with leaving fans in awe, Curry also made his wife Ayesha proud with his excellent performance.

Malik Monk’s comments after Game 6 may have provided motivation for the Warriors. The 25-year-old had stated how the Kings ‘knew they could run them [Warriors].’ Monk after the penultimate game emphasized how the Sacramento side was the younger team who were quicker when compared to the Dubs. While Monk’s comments may not have been intended as a direct dig toward the Warriors, they likely played a role in the team’s mindset heading into Game 7.

Regardless of the impact of Monk’s comments, the Warriors were able to come together as a team and execute their game plan. Stephen Curry after winning Game 7 said, “The competitive spirit is always in us, and we didn’t need any sound bites to motivate us, but it did help to know, you know, they thought they had something in the sense of the pace. You know, they tried to get it, get the game two and game six, and no, that was a talking point for him.”

With a team full of quality players, LeBron James’ Lakers are a formidable foe. The game between the Lakers and the Warriors may be a struggle for the Dubs as they face a resurgent Los Angeles side in their next matchup.

?Although Malik meant nothing malicious, because it comes from a logical reasoning, these young grass hoppers come in the league with no humility, and you have to chop em down to size. Good lesson for the Grizz, and, in this case Malik thinking 30+ year olds can’t burn ya. Good lesson Steph!?

?Wow?.I didn?t know he said that.? I know Malik didn?t mean it in a bad way and he is just being honest, but it?s not like Curry disagrees with the fact that he is getting old.? To be honest, Malik played well regardless.? If there?s a team/player that needed humbling, it would be the Grizzlies for sure.?
