The man in question finally made it to the league and achieved the utmost objective of every young basketball star of winning the league. Toronto Raptors had one of the best playoff runs of all time. They were heavy underdogs in almost every major matchup in the playoffs but that didn’t seem to faze them at all. Kawhi Leonard being the star he is, led Raptors to Canada’s first-ever NBA title victory.

Fred VanVleet was not drafted in 2016. He later joined the Toronto Raptors with its G League affiliate Raptors 905 in the 16-17 season. He played a vital role in the Raptor’s championship victory run in the 2018-19 season when the organization won its first-ever NBA Championship title.
It was reported that VanVleet held a draft party in his hometown but was not drafted by any team.
In a viral clip, he’s seen giving a speech to the people that attended his draft party. He said, “So, I had a chance to get drafted. But they was talking about putting me in the D League for 2-3 years. Slaving away for Ten thousand a year. Twenty thousand a year. I turned those down. I bet on myself.”
Well seven years later, information comes to the surface stating he’s about to sign a $130 million contract with the Houston Rockets.
It’s quite inspiring and heartening to see VanVleet getting the money bag and respect that he deserves. His story will definitely serve as an inspiration to many young ball stars all around the world.

The Raptors finished the regular season with being second overall. The Raptors beat the Orlando Magic in a rather impressive manner. They knocked them out in a total of five games. The Raptors went down 2-1 in their series against the Philadelphia 76ers but won the series in seven games.
Next up they faced the Greek Freak’s Bucks and were able to get past them despite losing the first two games of the series.
Later they faced the mighty Golden State Warriors and were able to dismantle them in six games with Kawhi leading the charge. It took them more than two decades but they laid their hands on the first ever NBA Championship victory in history.
