Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were one of the greatest duos of all time. They won six NBA championships together and complimented each other’s style perfectly. Pippen was the Robin to Jordan’s Batman. While MJ was undoubtedly the best player, Pippen wasn’t far behind. However, now Pippen will have to support Jordan’s biggest rival in the GOAT conversation, LeBron James.

It is not something he will do exclusively though. His son, Scotty Pippen Jr. recently signed a Two-Way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Pippen Jr. went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft but the Lakers have given him a chance to prove himself in the league. His dad was naturally very proud of him and has complete faith in Pippen Jr. making it big in the NBA.
Scottie Pippen, a seven-time All-Star, will be hoping the Los Angeles Lakers give him a proper chance. If Pippen Jr. can achieve even half of what his dad did in his distinguished career, he will likely retire a happy man. One problem Pippen might face though is that he’ll now have to support the Lakers, which means he will need to support LeBron James.

James has often been touted as the closest to Michael Jordan‘s legacy. Pippen has often given his take on the whole Jordan vs LeBron debate. Things haven’t always been great between Pippen and Jordan either. Pippen has always felt he never gets the credit he deserves because MJ always stole the spotlight.

Pippen was an all-around player. He could arguably do everything on the floor at a high level. While Jordan’s role was more concerned with scoring, Pippen used to be more involved in everything else. He even made the All-Defensive First Team for eight consecutive years.

Although Jordan and Pippen dominated the 90s together with the Chicago Bulls, their relationship isn’t the greatest. Pippen has often taken shots at his former teammate. He has always felt that the rest of the Bulls players in the championship runs don’t get enough credit for what they did.
Instead, Jordan is praised for single-handedly pushing the Bulls to six championships. Pippen was considered by some to be an MVP-level of player but in the end, he was reduced to the role of ‘Robin’.
