Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan were a formidable partnership. The definition duo. Their impact defined an entire decade for the Chicago Bulls. While MJ was the centerpiece and you can say in command, Scottie Pippen was in the supporting role. The support without which Michael Jordan might not have achieved the great heights that he did.
The world was blessed to see two of the biggest superstars of the game and two of the most talented players of all time playing together. They won and played together for 10 seasons. But there have been a lot of speculations that their relationship got worse over time. After MJ retired in 1993 for the first time, Scottie felt betrayed and that’s where the slight differences started.

Scottie and MJ weren’t best friends off the court, but their chemistry on it was immaculate. Because of their tumultuous relationship, Scottie had often ‘picked’ LeBron as gis GOAT. He and MJ always respected one another, but Pippen was not happy with some things in MJ’s documentary ‘The Last Dance’. During the promotion of his book, Pippen in an interview, answered the questions about his career, his reactions to The Last Dance and to end the interview, his all-time starting five.

“I’ll take myself, Michael Jordan, Magic. Based on today’s game, it would be positionless right yeah. So give me Charles Barkley. I want to still stick with the older players. — I’ll take Shaq. I got a lot of offense — no no you know what, get rid of Barkley. Give me Giannis. — I want Giannis at the four and then give me Shaq at the bottom.” said Scottie Pippen.

Scottie left out LeBron James and, understandably, he wanted to pick the older guy first. For the starting 5 he chose, it was important to have defense and one can only imagine what Giannis and Shaq would do together. Just imagine those 5 in a starting lineup. Although imagine if the team’s 6th man coming off the bench was LeBron James. Even without that, let’s just forfeit the game before it starts, shall we?
