The Chicago Bulls dynasty was one of the most dominant rosters in NBA history. Michael Jordan led the side to two-three peats in the 90s. Despite Chicago’s popularity, the attention didn’t fall beyond the trident, particularly MJ, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman. Pippen recently opened up about a 7 ‘2 Bulls legend and head coach Phil Jackson’s harsh expectations set on him. Interestingly, Pippen also broke his ties with MJ for misrepresentation of the Bulls team in the Netflix series, The Last Dance.

Many fans always felt that MJ’s popularity overshadowed the efforts of his teammates. In recent times, however, the increase in the number of interviews and podcasts has brought out various untold stories from the Bulls’ camp. Particularly, a story of the unsung 7-foot giant came to light.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Scottie Pippen unraveled an inside story about his Bulls teammate Luc Longley. Notably, Longley joined the team in 1994 and played center for the then-defending champions. While the team’s success already put a lot of expectations on the newcomer, the head coach Phil Jackson further raised the bar for the 7-foot center. Pippen revealed Jackson’s demands from the star.

He added, “Phil wanted Luc to be a bit different… He wanted Luc to have a nasty side of him.”  On the contrary, Pippen described Longley as a “Gentle, nice person by nature.”

Additionally, he listed the things that Jackson expected from the big man. He said, “Phil needed that side of him to come out… to knock somebody down, to maybe send a message.”
