In an interview with The Jump, Scottie Pippen confirmed the story of Michael cheating on a game that was displayed on the jumbotron. In the halftime game in which the fans would guess, they displayed the hat which had the ball under it on the jumbotron. The arena’s video crew told Jordan the right answer before the game.
Michael took this opportunity to bet on his teammates and win every time. Pippen said that Michael never bet on him but he did bet on the security guard, John Capps.
“… but Capps would bet Michael every game. The only way Capp would win if he was able to pick the right ball. Because, if Michael pick, obviously he knew he was gonna win.” said Pippen.
Michael had an unfair advantage over the John Capps, but still managed to win quite a lot. Pippen said that Michael probably made about $4,100. This was because the team had half the games played in Chicago, out of the 82-game season. And Michael would bet $100 on each game.
