Seems like the Cavaliers were aiming to boost up their roster when they signed a deal with Mitchell that is worth $163 million. The Cavaliers acquired Mitchell for Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji and Collin Sexton. During the summer, amidst the trade rumors, fans and Mitchell himself had anticipated that he would be traded to the New York Knicks. In fact, the 26-year old star had revealed during a press conference that he was expecting to join the Knicks as he wanted to be at home with his mother.
?I thought for sure I was going back home, I?m not gonna lie about that. Who doesn?t want to be home next to their mom???said Mitchell.
Nevertheless, he said that he was excited to be a part of the Cavaliers. Now that the season is just around the corner, all teams were busy with their media day that was held on Sept. 23, Sept. 25 and Sept. 26. The Cavaliers had their annual media day at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and the players were seen posing together for a photoshoot. A photo of the team was uploaded on Twitter and Cavs fans are already aiming for the high skies.
LeBron James’ former team seems to be in their best shape
Ever since the NBA league was formed, the Cleveland Cavaliers had only won the championship title once in 2016. Interestingly, it was when NBA superstar LeBron James was in the team. King James led his team to the finals where they beat the Golden State Warriors by 93-89. After LeBron’s exit from the team, the Cavaliers have been going through a dry spell again.
