The Bradley Beal trade saga made a lot of noise in the NBA community. After several rumors floating around his name, Beal finally landed in the Phoenix Suns camp. Now, Beal is excited to work with his new team and build something special. With the primary goal of winning a championship, he says that this Suns trade can be something special.
However, having spent 11 years at the Washington Wizards, Beal definitely has a lot to say when it’s finally time to part ways. In an open letter, Beal recounts all the bittersweet memories he has with the team while wishing for acceptance from DC fans.

Beal got into the NBA in 2012. He was the third overall pick by the Wizards in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft. Since then, he played for the franchise for 11 years. He owes all his current success to these years.
Although Beal is yet to win an NBA championship, during his stint with the Wizards he made three All-Star appearances. In fact, he was a part of the All-NBA third team in 2021. So, even when his time with the Wizards wasn’t highly successful, they were his home and now he has to say goodbye to them after the Suns trade. So making his goodbye special, he addressed the letter to DC.
Beal begins writing, “It wasn’t easy to write this. It’s been an amazing 11 years, and it’s unreal to think my time here has come to an end.”
Beal cherishes his time with the franchise
The 29-year-old star also thanks the city, the franchise, and especially the fans for showing him so much love. Beal also writes that he is grateful for the opportunity that he was given at such a young age. He recalls several special on-court memories that he made like the “Game 6 against the Celtics in 2017.”

He said that these types of memories will always have a special place in his heart and that he will always cherish his time with the franchise.
Further, he reminisced over his memory of the draft night in 2012 and said that at the time, as a 19-year-old he was embracing his family because he was moving to DC. Now 11 years later, he’ll again have to leave his family as he is moving away from his beloved city. Recounting the bittersweet memories, he thanked his family for all they’ve done for him. Beal said, “My family sacrificed so many of their dreams in order to help me chase mine.”
