Wife Cherelle reveals the big mistake Russia is making with Brittney Griner

Brittney Griner’s wife Cherelle recently appeared on ‘The View’ on ABC. During the show, she called the recent ruling “absurd” and called it politically driven. “There’s no other way for me to see it except it’s political,” Cherelle said.

“She loves playing over there and to see that the totality of the circumstances of who she is as a person wasn’t taken into account when they rendered their decision,” Cherelle said. “Her footprint is amazing for Russia. She’s paying taxes there.”

Indeed, Brittney Griner has been playing in Russia since 2014. She played for UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Russian league and reportedly made a seven-figure salary during the off-season of the WNBA. Furthermore, she has reportedly been paying taxes there with her financials in check.

Griner has won several awards and accolades in Russia, which made her among the best players in the league. She had a huge impact on both the WNBA and the Russian league. The two-time Olympic champion has nothing to prove when it comes to her basketball skills. However, her lawyers have a herculean task on their hands to prove her innocence.
