Russell Westbrook was at the form of his life during his OKC years. While Russell Westbrook is an NBA superstar, his OKC teammate was once mistaken for a superhero: ‘Aquaman’. And you know the obvious, the similarities are uncanny.
NBA players do commercials and appear on TV shows now and then. Some of the great players have even done movies. While big-time athletes are invited to promote certain brands or companies, just a handful go further in acting.
Some may have great acting skills hidden in them, whereas others just straight out resemble popular actors. Steven Adams is quite famous for his resemblance with Jason Momoa, aka Aquaman. Adams is one of the nicest players in the league who looks like a Marvel character, though he is not as interested in Hollywood.

Aquaman’s lookalike in OKC
Jason Momoa’s movie Aquaman which was released in 2018 featured a new Marvel character. While Marvel fans were amazed by a new entry, NBA fans could only think of Steven Adams after watching the film. Steven continued to work on his game, though off the court this resemblance helped him a lot.
“When I was in Croatia, I actually got mistaken for. It helped out a lot honestly.”, said Adams when asked about fans comparing his looks to the Aquaman, via TMZ. He was mistaken for Jason by fans, but to his advantage, it helped him get into clubs. “Just getting into clubs and stuff.”, says Steven, talking about his privileges after sharing a resemblance with Jason.

Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams for OKC
During that time Steven was in Oklahoma, playing alongside Russell Westbrook. In fact, in the 2017-2018 season, Adams and Westbrook led the league in assists as a duo. It was also the first season when the duo played with 2 superstars, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George.

Though they were dominant, Westbrook and Adams played Conference Finals together at best. Their performance was one to watch. Adams played a major role in the 2016 postseason when the Thunder made it to the West Finals but couldn’t hold the Warriors.

After a few first-round exits, Westbrook and Adams went separate ways. Russ joined the Rockets and Adams joined the Pelicans later on. After a season with the Pelicans, Adams signed up with the Grizzlies who came up short versus the Warriors in the Semifinals this postseason. Steven Adams’s resemblance to Jason amazes fans to this day and it would be interesting to see if he ever does a movie.
