An ex-teammate of LeBron James is reportedly moving to China to continue playing basketball in the Chinese league. The said veteran is leaving the league after playing for nine seasons. As the news started circulating on the Internet, NBA fans proceeded to reflect on the affair on social media. Moreover, they even trolled other NBA stars like Ben Simmons and Russell Westbrook after coming across the said veteran’s news.

King James’ ex-teammate, who is moving to China, is none other than Ben McLemore. Since 2013, the 6’3 guard has played for several franchises in the league, and now he is looking forward to new challenges in China.

Ben McLemore agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Shandong Heroes

Recently, a report emerged on the internet suggesting that McLemore would be signing with the Chinese side, Shangdong Heroes. NBA writer and podcast host for ‘HoopsHype’, Michael Scotto wrote on Twitter, “Nine-year NBA veteran Ben McLemore has agreed to a one-year deal with the Shandong Heroes of the Chinese Basketball Association.” Moreover, Scotto added that the veteran guard‘s agent told ‘HoopsHype’ about the trade.

The 29-year-old played nine seasons in the NBA. In those nine seasons, he managed to average nine points, 2.3 rebounds, and one assist. Last season, the veteran played for the Portland Trail Blazers where he averaged 10.2 points. McLemore played for the Lakers in 2021, where he was teammates with the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Meanwhile, as soon as Scotto reported about the trade, fans chimed in on social media to express their thoughts and opinions. Surprisingly, most fans trolled other NBA stars like Simmons and Westbrook in the comment section. They joked that the aforementioned stars should also join McLemore in China as lately, they have not been performing up to their standards. However, on the other hand, some of the users were in utter disbelief as they couldn’t believe the veteran was leaving the league. Overall, the fans seemingly gave mixed reactions.
