Former OKC star Russell Westbrook has made a lot of headlines off late. Whether or not for the right reasons, is another argument. Over the past few games, the experienced guard has been a shadow of himself. Although his turnovers have reduced, he has shot 15 out of 59 from the field over the past 4 games. In the most recent trolling incident, the Sacramento Kings picked apart the 2017 MVP. Now, the Lakers veteran has hit back at the franchise.
Russell Westbrook delivers thunderous response to Kings
Having featured in the NBA for 14 years now, Westbrook is yet to win a title. One of the most talented superstars in his prime, he is having a challenging time with the current aging LA roster. Nonetheless, the star has been self-critical many a time. Post the Lakers’ latest loss to the Kings, Russ admitted that he has to do better with his shooting. This seemed to be quite the popular opinion, as Sacramento took a cheap shot at the 9-time All-star on their own turf.
As Westbrook struggled to a miserly 8 points on the night, the Kings’ game ops trolled him. In a sarcastic dig, they displayed him as the ‘Ice Cold Player of the Game’ on the big screen. Every time he missed a shot, there was ‘You’re as cold as ice’ being played. Not holding back whatsoever, Russ decided to destroy Sacramento. Referring to his longevity in the league, he said in an interview, “That’s funny. I hope they played that the last 14 years too. That’s cute.”
