The Los Angeles Lakers’ poor run of form continues this season. Sitting in the West with a 26-28 record, they took on the Milwaukee Bucks as part of their regular-season schedule, only to be in the midst of yet another blowout loss, making a 4th quarter comeback extremely difficult.

With the 4th quarter coming to a close, Malik Monk made a solid contribution of 18 points, while the remaining core of the big three, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook have collectively scored just 29 points for LA. Despite LeBron James leading his team with 27 points, the ‘King’ would receive his first technical foul of the season after a successful reverse dunk.

On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo has become the leading scorer among all of today’s games. Along with him, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Bobby Portis joined hands to ensure a strong double-digit lead over the Lakers. In light of the hole that the Lakers dug for themselves during the game, Russell Westbrook made an encouraging gesture for his co-stars, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.

As the game came to a close, the Bucks had opened up a 15 point lead. With time running out, it was difficult for the Lakers to mount a comeback given. Following the blowout loss to the Bucks, Russell Westbrook tried to pick up his teammates, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, with an encouraging gesture towards the end of the game. In the post-match presser, he revealed what he said to the duo.

“I told them I wish I could help them. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the game to be able to help them,” said Westbrook.

“And that’s why, you know, perhaps I came here to help them out. So, unfortunately, haven’t been able to do that for them. But that’s not my call,” he added.

Furthermore, Westbrook explained that until he is called upon during games, his aim is to be a leader and an encouraging voice for the squad. Moreover, the Bucks were extremely dominant throughout the matchup. They would close out the game with a 15 point victory, thereby handing Russ and his squad their 29th loss of the season. Clearly, things need to improve quickly in LA. With the trade deadline closing in, the Lakers will have to improve their roster and win as many games as possible.
