Russell Westbrook didn’t have the best of the seasons this time around. The LA Lakers signed Russ with the aim to win the championship. Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis were supposed to fire the team to a 2nd NBA title in three years. However, it never happened.
Instead, Westbrook became the target of criticism in regard to his performances. The fans also didn’t warm up to him the way it was expected. Westbrook also constantly talked against Coach Frank Vogel and has stirred drama.

The former MVP has already been dubbed as “Westbrick” by fans due to his dismal shooting behind the three-point line. He shot just 28% on 3-pointers this season. Ever since the season ended for the Lakers, there has been speculation surrounding his future. Now, he has added fuel to the fire with his recent activity.

Westbrook has now deleted all his posts on Instagram related to the Lakers on his social media. ‘Brody’ still has 1,000 posts on his social media profile and his profile picture is still him in his Lakers jersey, but all past posts related to the Lakers have been deleted.
He also has deleted Rockets/Wizards posts as well and kept up his old team OKC Thunder’s posts. This is a very interesting development in this Westbrook Lakers saga.
Russell Westbrook and his performance
Westbrook has been the target for the Lakers’ dismal performance this season. His numbers had gradually gone up as the season progressed, but to the naked eye, it left a lot to be desired. The lackadaisical lapses on defense and the inability to move off the ball offensively have been two things that Westbrook failed to improve upon.

He had ten triple-doubles this season. His shooting was much worse. His three-point percentage was 29.8. In one game against the New Orleans Pelicans, he had shot just 5-for-15, scoring 16 points while turning the ball over a team-high seven times. His +/- for the night was -26.

He is now hinting at a move back to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Westbrook won an MVP award in 2017 while playing for the franchise. He was their scoring champion and had taken that Thunder team to multiple playoffs. They went as far as the Conference finals in 2016. They lost to the Golden State Warriors 4-3.
