The Los Angeles Lakers just lost their second game in a row to their neighborhood rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers. Even though the Lakers had some showtime plays, they just could not come out on top. The odds were arguably in favor of the Lakers as Clippers star Kawhi Leonard did not start the game and came off the bench.

Yet the Lakers lost the game 103-97. Two-thirds of the Lakers’ big three had a good game. LeBron James had a double-double, scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. And Anthony Davis finished the night with 25 points and 8 rebounds.
Fans had their say after a poor showing by Russell Westbrook vs the Clippers
However, Russell Westbrook had a horrendous game against the Clippers. In the 27 minutes that he played, he went 0-11 from the field and 0-6 from beyond the arc. Westbrook notched up just 2 points for the game, which he converted from the free-throw line.
It seemed as if Westbrook did not come to play tonight. After his disastrous performance against the Clippers, LeBron James gave a message to the 2017 MVP.
LeBron James said, “Flush it down the toilet and get ready for Sunday. I thought he played a great game. Defensively he was in tune.” James may have been referring to Westbrook’s 5 steals for the night.

But that doesn’t change the way how fans felt about him. Fans around the league have often called him ‘Westbrick’ due to the number of shots he misses.

I can think of at least 603 players (NBA, GLeague, NCAA) that can play good defense while shooting 0 – 11 with 2 points.

As James gave this statement, fans couldn’t help but speculate what he meant. Whatever the case may be, fans will be hoping that the Lakers bounce back in their third game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Some hopeful future for the Los Angeles Lakers
Notably, Russell Westbrook had 19 points in their loss to the Golden State Warriors on opening night. Although, one good thing that Laker fans can be happy about is Lonnie Walker IV.
