The Utah Jazz are one of the top offensive teams in the NBA. Donovan Mitchell being the focal point of their offense, he is attracting some eyes around the league. With rumors of a move away from Utah, there seems to be some bad blood in between him and his DPOY teammate Rudy Gobert.
Mitchell is one of the rising young stars in the NBA. He has all the offensive weapons in the book and more than often delivers. This led the Jazz to be one of the most dangerous offensive teams. However, when offense doesn’t work out, defense saves the day. And for Mitchell, that has been a point of criticism with his game.
Hence, with trade rumors coming in, Rudy Gobert took an indirect shot at his Jazz teammate.

Gobert and Donovan Mitchell fall out?
Rumors have come flooding around Michell choosing the New York Knicks or Miami Heat as a favorable destination if he ever wants out of Utah. however, it seems Rudy Gobert did not take well to this and indirectly criticized his teammate.
Gobert said: “I watch some of these other teams like the Suns or Warriors, those guys are a step ahead of us in terms of winning habits…Devin Booker is playing his ass off defensively…Guys like that, they buy in, and you can tell they take pride in playing defense”

While he sure didn’t take any names, it does point at Mitchell. This mainly comes after their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where the Jazz offense failed to get the job done. With Gobert out, their defense fell apart, and they were blown out by 20 points. But this tension between the Jazz’s two best players may get out of hand if not dealt with.
Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are by far the two best players. While Spida takes the offense, Gobert prides himself on his defensive prowess. With his criticism, he is suggesting Mitchell doesn’t put effort into defense. But for Spida, he is putting up career numbers in steals and defensive rating as well. All this while putting up 25 points per game. Hence, he is surely putting in more efforts and making improvements.
