Coming into the game, the Hornets were massive underdogs to the 5-3 Grizzlies. Consequently, the game ended in a huge blowout win for the Grizzlies, marking their sixth victory of the season. At the end of regulation time, the score was 130-99 in favour of the Grizzlies.

After the win, the Grizzlies took to Twitter and went all out after posting an image throwing shade at the Hornets. The official Twitter handle of the organization posted an image of an animated character holding a signboard with the capitalized word ‘L’ in bold. To add insult to injury, they had a haughty caption attached to the post that said, “We made a sign for you @hornets.”?The NBA world was set ablaze after the tweet, and fans went wild with it. The Grizzlies had done it; they had publicly roasted Michael Jordan’s team.?

The Memphis Grizzlies are a relatively new franchise in terms of NBA standards. In their 20-year lifespan, the Grizzlies have not found much success. However, they have seemed to crack the code very recently. Their core, led by the young gun Ja Morant whom they drafted in 2019, comprises of rising stars with loads of potential. The Grizzlies have it all, offense, defense, size, and coaching. They only lack veteran players with championship experience, whose absence last year caused their meltdown in the playoffs.
