LeBron James has always been the greatest on the court ever since his rookie debut. As soon as he entered the league, spectators had always been comparing him to Michael Jordan. LeBron was as lethal as Jordan on the court. LeBron displayed his greatness every time he stepped out on the court. A player so great will constantly be in comparison with other greats. Hence, the media and spectators always compared LeBron James to Michael Jordan.

LeBron was a huge fan of Michael Jordan ever since his high school basketball days. LeBron used to play with Jordan’s jersey number in high school. Moreover, he wore a wristband on his forearm exactly like Jordan. Just like every other basketball player, LeBron was a member of the Be Like Mike revolution. However, Rich Paul has recently revealed that Jordan did not embrace LeBron the way LeBron looked up to Jordan.

Since they both are considered to be the greatest players of their respective generations, people expected to see the same from James what they saw from Jordan.

For a number of reasons. And I think the biggest reason is, everyone wants you to do something the way somebody else did it previously, “ said Rich Paul.

Rich Paul explained, “LeBron was a kid. (The media) wanted LeBron to be like Mike; they wanted Michael to speak to them in any capacity, which he probably didn’t. They wanted Michael to be his friend, which he probably wasn’t. They also wanted LeBron to act like, be like Michael, and he wasn’t.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are not having a great season. However, this does not mean that LeBron is slacking off. LeBron missed a few games this season due to an injury. Nonetheless, he has been the most impactful player on the Lakers this season.

LeBron is picking up the slack that the Lakers are receiving due to Anthony Davis’s constant absence. Moreover, other players on the team, like Russell Westbrook, have negligible performances. Despite all that, the Lakers is a really good team on paper. Theoretically, they can easily win the championship. However, they seem to be having a lot of trouble in execution.

He is currently averaging 29.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. This makes him a leading contender for the scoring title this season.
