The Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is ensuring he is not just at the top of his game, but also on top of his philanthropic efforts. On Monday, he announced his next project along with the Durant Family Foundation. His dedication to giving back to his community reaffirmed his generosity. Hence, fans were impressed with his noble gesture.
The Nets’ forward and his foundation pledged $500,000 to help transform and rebuild the basketball gym at Bowie State University’s Athletics Department. The investment also would focus on the school’s athletic programs.

Kevin Durant reacted to the news on social media, writing “Let’s get it“. Moreover, he tagged Bowie State in his tweet.
Upgrades are in order for the facility with an all-new basketball court and other additional fixtures and enhancements. Further, Durant and his family foundation will also help aspiring students with a scholarship for the Durant Center College Track.
Kevin Durant has been making a difference
Wanda Durant, the player’s mother, leads the family foundation. She asserted that they were dedicated to providing resources and opportunities for students, “especially in Prince George’s County“.

This could have been perhaps personally important for the family as Durant grew up in the county.
Bowie State’s basketball court is not their first project, as they have had a history of renovating approximately 27 basketball courts around the world. They have completed projects in cities like Berlin, New Delhi, Tokyo, and San Francisco.
