The season has ended and we have the latest NBA winner. The Golden State Warriors are the champions. The happiest team after the season. Where every team would be aiming to improve themselves in the next season, a few of the teams would be desperate to make strong changes. One of those teams is the Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James.

The Lakers had high hopes as a group with the amount of experience the roster had. The team was filled with veterans who knew how to win games. With Anthony Davis and Malik Monk, they had the young energy as well. But even with the likes of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis, only LeBron performed at the level expected from him. For the next season, it seems like LeBron might get added help and a partner who has proved how lethal he can be in the past.

Kyrie Irving and the Nets are at an impasse in conversations about his future in Brooklyn, clearing the way for the seven-time All-Star to consider the open market. Lakers and Knicks are expected to emerge among potential suitors. Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Kyrie Irving may be looking for a change in teams for the next season. The Nets would allow that to happen as they are unsure of his continuation at the franchise.

The Lakers, Knicks, and Clippers are expected to be among the interested suitors if Irving heads out. This means that there is a very good chance that we might see LeBron and Kyrie partnering up. Giving us the Cavaliers partnership that was absolutely lethal in its day. And in all honesty, the Lakers could use a player like Kyrie Irving to boost up their roster. As he is a player who has proven that he can win games all throughout the season.

The Brooklyn Nets? outlook

Just like the Lakers, the Nets were also hopeful for a season of success when the season started. But it did not turn out that way. With the trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, the roster looked stacked and destined to be one of the best. But as the season went on, it was quite the opposite. Moreover, Harden left in February to join the 76ers. They did qualify for the playoffs, but the Boston Celtics swept them off 4-0. Just like the Lakers, they also faced disappointment and must look to get better next season.

Now the two perspectives that involve the trade are of the two teams and the two players (mostly). If the Nets decide to let go of Kyrie, they will have to find a player with caliber to lead the lineup along with KD. Otherwise, just letting Kyrie go would be the opposite of progress for the team going forward.

LeBron James – Kyrie Irving partnership along with the Lakers roster

On the other hand, the Lakers, by the look of things, lacked game-winning mentality and quality as well. While LeBron did his best in his 19th season, it still wasn?t enough. Neither Russ nor AD fired on a regular basis. While AD missed a lot of games with injury, Russ simply had one of the worst seasons of his career. There was no doubt about their quality, but they did not live up to the expectations.

Now if Kyrie actually ends up at the Lakers, it would be a big boost for them in every sense. Assuming they can manage that big a salary cap and keep all their major, high-earning stars, a team of LeBron, AD, Russ, and Kyrie looks absolutely insane, at least on paper.

Technically, the decision also has to have the input of Darvin Ham, on how he wants to lead the side. There is also a possibility that the Lakers let go of one of their superstars to manage the salaries and reunite LeBron with Kyrie.
